1. Buy from sustainable brands

   There are actually so many of them, some of which you already know and love:

2. Shop vintage or resale sites - It may take a little patience and extra work, but some of the coolest finds are on these sites.  Thrift shops qualify too!

3. Clothing swap - This could be the most fun hangout you've had in a while - pack up some clothes you no longer wear, mask up and head to a friend’s for an at-home shop-a-thon of each other's giveaways. Do it once every few months with a different friend and you've got yourself a "new" wardrobe without spending a dime.

4. Clean carefully - Clothing care labels are small and often hard to find, not to mention nearly impossible to understand. These three care tips are simple, environmentally friendly and almost universally applicable:

   - wash less frequently

   - wash cool/cold

   - line dry or dry flat

   You’ll lighten your laundry load and lower your environmental impact. Did you know that nearly 40% of your clothing’s environmental impact comes from how you care for it. Yup, you have more power than you think to be the change you want to see on mother earth.⁣

5. Shop your own closet - You’ll be surprised at how you can repurpose items you thought needed to go straight to the dumpster. Jeans too short or have a bottom you no longer like? Cut them into cute jean shorts. Tee shirt too tight or short? Layer it under another top. You get the point 😊.

Think about this a minute: according to a 2020 McKinsey Fashion on Climate report, the fashion industry emits about the same quantity of greenhouse gases per year as the entire economies of France, Germany and the UK - combined!! It’s time for a change, don’t ya think?
